Dateline-Boscobel Penny P. Kalish, age 62 of Boscobel, passed away on Sunday March 3, 2024 at her home in Boscobel, surrounded by her family. She was born October 11, 1961 in Richland Center, Wisconsin. The daughter of Robert and Patricia (Mohr) Kalish. Penny, grew up working hard farming with her family. She helped her parents tend to their tavern, “The Long Branch” in Boscobel. I hear it was fun. Penny’s most known employment was J & J Sewing. She gained family there. Care taking became her calling as it was a rewarding occupation. But her favorite job was being a mom! Penny was well loved and had a tendency to light up a room, and her back yard! Her gardens were her passion. She loved being outside getting her hands in the dirt, having a bonfire, and cooking out. She loved to drive. There were lots of visiting to family and friends to say hi and see how they’re doing. She had a very caring soul! She was generous and kind to all who knew her. We are all blessed to have known her and now Heaven is lucky to have her! She is survived by three daughters, Nacole Kalish of Boscobel, Tara Kretschman of Boscobel, Stephaine Kretschman and Ron Eggers both of Muscoda. Nine Grandchildren, two brothers, Terry (Brenda) Kalish of Boscobel, Steve (Linda) Kalish of Rockbridge. One sister, Roberta (Dave) Kirschbaum of McHenry, Illinois. Special friend, Crickett Foust of Muscoda. A like son; Travis Jerrett of Mt. Zion. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Chance Ruetten, her significant other, Steve Kretschman, along with other loving family members. A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Friday March 22, 2024 at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel, from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. A time of remembrance service will be held at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Lance Wetter officiating. Private family burial will be in the Boscobel Cemetery, at a later date.
