Al Jones, age 81 of Boscobel, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at his home in Boscobel, surrounded by his family.  He was born on October 7, 1939 in Liberty Township Grant County Wisconsin.  The son of Norris and Esther (Barrett) Jones.  He married Jane Zart on July 21, 1977 in Lancaster. Al worked for 10 years for Badger Ordinance, Bob Pat's Implement both in Baraboo. He returned to Boscobel in 1976 and worked for Melvin Sale, Boscobel FS, farmed for Karl Zart, and then worked for 32 years, driving dump truck for Ray Reynolds and Sons until he retired .  Al was a Packer and Brewer fan and an avid hunter. When Al lived in Baraboo, he was a member of the North Freedom Sportsman Club and has been a member of the Boscobel Sportsman Club since 1977.  He was president for many years and greatly enjoyed working with the Birddog Trap League and sharing his trap shooting knowledge with high school students.  He also assisted with hunter safety, where he loved to share his knowledge with the young hunters including his grandsons.  Al, married Sue Brown in 1960 , they had two children, Scot , and Tammy. . He is survived by his wife Jane Jones of Boscobel. His children, Scot (Susan) Jones of Virginia. Tammy Jones of Philadelphia, Jamie Jones of Kewaskum Wi. 7 Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Shirley Roghers.
Private Memorial Services were  held on Thursday October 15, 2020, at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Father Christopher Padilla officiating. Burial will be at a later date. A Celebration of Life Gathering , will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021  from 12;00 p.m. - 4:00 P.M. at the Boscobel Sportsman Club located at. 4982 State  Highway 133 Boscobel, Wisconsin 53805..The dress will be casual, and bring your favorite story about Al.   In lie of flowers memorial can be given to the Boscobel Birddog High School Trap Team.
