Allen Curtis Obituary

Allen C. Curtis, age 79 of Boscobel,

passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Meriter
Hospital, Madison., WI.  He was born December 30, 1940 in
Scott Township, Crawford County, WI to Roy and Della (Olson)
Curtis.  He married Mary Jo Arms on November 11, 1967 at the
Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife
Mary Jo Curtis; son, John (Lena) Robinson, Boscobel; three
grandsons: John (Meghan) Robinson, Milwaukee; Brian
Robinson, Milwaukee; Nolan Robinson, Platteville; and one
sister Marylou Garnsworthy of Prairie du Chien, along with
many beloved nieces, nephews, & their families. He was
preceded in death by his parents, siblings Althea Lester, Virginia
Hjelter, Clarence Curtis, Theodore Curtis, Daniel Curtis, and
infant twins.
His work career included Kembles Greenhouse, working for his
sister, Marylou, and brother-in-law, Stan. Then in 1974, he was
provided the opportunity to buy the family farm in Mt. Zion

where he farmed till 1994, all the while working at Rayovac for
15 years . He also served as a sextant for the Union Hill
Cemetery, Mt. Zion, WI. He was known in the community for
volunteering his time as a ADRC driver, delivering the Shopping
News, and mowing lawns around the local neighborhood.
Some of his biggest joys were visiting with friends at local
restaurants; spending time with his family; playing Euchre &
300; oddly watching the news with the sound muted; and
enjoying ANY football game. His lively laugh, pranks,
resourcefulness, and giant heart will be deeply missed by all
that knew & loved him.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a graveside side service will be
held at a later date in the Union Hill Cemetery, Mt. Zion.  The
Kendall Funeral Service in Boscobel is assisting the family.
