Barbara J. Staskal, age 75 of Boscobel, passed away on Monday May 8, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born October 22, 1947 in Prairie du Chien Wisconsin. The daughter of Raymond "Mike" and Thelma (Chapman) Kazda. She married Jerry Staskal on June 20, 1970 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Boscobel.

She is survived by her husband Jerry Staskal of Boscobel. A brother; David (Kim) Kazda of Boscobel. A sister; Deirdre Kazda of  Boscobel. A brother in law; Jim (Kay) Staskal of Waunakee and sister in law; Gloria Borsma of Verona. Nieces and Nephews, extended family in England, and a wonderful group of friends who she cherished. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister in law; Lyle and Donna Sanders, brother in law; Claire Corpian. In addition (from the words of Barbara): Not much can be said about Barbara – depending on who you ask and how someone knew her. After retiring in 2008, she enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, golfing with “the girls,” planning outings with the card club group, trips with Jerry and waiting for that familiar line “What do you think Barbara?”, trips and get togethers with family and friends and just socializing. She fought this health issue as hard as she could but it was time to move on. Barbara would like to thank her wonderful family and friends for all the kindness, support, compassion, generosity, friendship, and comfort given to her and Jerry during this difficult time. This is not goodbye, it’s more of a see you later with lots of love!

Memorial services will be held on Monday May 22, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Boscobel. Pastors Mark Peters and Lance Wetter co-officiating. Private family burial in the Boscobel Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call on Monday May 22, 2023 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at St. John's Lutheran Church in Boscobel. In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to Grant County Cancer Coalition, Boscobel Fire Department, or Boscobel Hildebrand Library. The Kendall Funeral Service in Boscobel is assisting
