Calvin Morris Jr. Obituary

Obiturary of Calvin "Grizz" Morris

                                  Born 7-30-1961           Died 11-20-2019

Calvin "Grizz" Morris, Jr, went home to be with Jesus on November 20, 2019 after a couragous 9 year battle with 3 rare types of stage 4 cancer.

Born in Middletown Ohio and raised in Warren county until 8th grade when his family moved to Morris Fork Kentucky after his father bought the Family Farm.  Calvin attended Breathitt County High School and graduated there. He then moved to Waynesville Ohio and married his first wife Darla. He later worked for a Coal Company, Lee Coal Company driving a truck for a few months before moving back to Ohio.  After a divorce from Darla, Calvin met his 2nd wife Tina. Calvin worked as a commercial roofer until 1987 when he moved to Fort Pierce, FL with his wife Tina and Son Calvin Morris III. In 1989 he moved back to the farm in Kentucky where he divorced Tina and gained full custody of Calvin the III. There Calvin came in contact with a friend he met in FL Sandra Fish and he moved to beautiful Boscobel, WI in 1991, where Grizz married Sandra, and was married until April of 2007 when Sandra died suddenly of a heart attack.  Calvin remained in Boscobel where 16 years before he aquired the nickname "Grizz", which pretty much everyone in Boscobel knew and called him by that name until he died.

In 2010, after dating for about 2 years, Grizz married his 4th wife, who would turn out to be his Soul Mate, Laura Faulkner.  Laura and Grizz shared much in common, they both loved to go to garage sales, flea markets and auctions. Above all they enjoyed fishing together.  In 2016, Grizz bought a boat and you could find he and his wife Laura on one river or the other just about every weekend fishing, cooking out on his small grill in the boat or maybe just cruising up and down the river, soaking up the sun.  In 2011, Grizz and Laura gave their lives to the Lord and became members of the Boscobel Assembly of God Church. Grizz served as a Deacon there for a few years almost up until his death.

Grizz enjoyed all kinds of outdoor sports including football, baseball, golf and horseshoes.  Grizz loved to hunt small game, and whitetail deer. Grizz enjoyed above all, fishing in the beautiful Mississippi Rivers, for panfish, walleye and more than anything, Catfish.

Grizz also enjoyed having his fish fry's for his immediate family!  Everyone Loved his cooking and spending time together and listening to Grizz talk about his life experiences, he always had something inspirational to say.

If you couldn't find Grizz fishing or cooking out, or hitting the local sales, you would most likely find him writing his blogs on Facebook.  Grizz loved to speak and write about his journey fighting cancer while trusting in the Lord to walk beside him all the way. Grizz would be the first to tell you he couldnt have fought the battle without God by his side.  Grizz started a group of followers who he called affectionately "Team Grizz". He was very proud to be fortunate enough to call them all Family as well as Friends.

When Grizz moved to WI, he went to work at Walnut Hollow Farms where he spent the last 7 years as a Supervisor of the Roughmill area in charge of drying wood and prepping it for the factory, and selling the waste Sawdust for animal bedding.  In 2005, Grizz began a career on a gambling boat owned by Isle of Capri and under a couple of more owners, he made a career as a Surveillance Operator until injuring his knee while he was on his boat fishing and the fighting of his final battle against Small Lung Cancer.  Grizz would tell you he didnt lose the battle, he just went on to Heaven to serve with the King of Kings.
