Carol E. Steele, age 82 of Sturgeon Bay and formerly of Soldiers Grove, passed away on Tuesday October 31, 2023 at Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay, surrounded by her family. She was born July 25, 1941 in Fennimore. The daughter of William and Grace ( Steers) Richmond. She married Thomas Steele on July 27, 1957 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua Ia. He preceded her in death on August 23, 2010. Carol loved the outdoors. She enjoyed fishing,hiking,and nature. She was a member of "Sweet Adelines" . She also enjoyed Crocheting and making quilts. Most of her time was spent caring for her home and family. She is survived by her children, Nola (Russell) Childs of Mt. Hope, Richard (Sheila) Steele of Antigo, Cindy (Rick) Klock of Mondovi Wi., Laura (Joseph) Knaapen of Brussels Wi., James (Bernie) Steele of Omro Wi., Beth Schultz of Freedom Wi. Several Grand and Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 12 brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held on Monday November 6, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Pastor Lance Wetter officiating. Burial in the Prairie Cemetery in Fennimore at a later date. Friends may call on Monday November 6, 2023 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel.
