Obituary

Dateline-Boscobel

Chance Steven Cole Ruetten, age 19 of Boscobel, passed away on Wednesday September 6, 2023
unexpectedly in Boscobel. He was born October 20, 2003, in Richland Center Wisconsin. The son of
Nacole Kalish and Steven Ruetten.
Chance struggled with mental health. He fought a very hard long battle. Death by suicide is a difficult
topic to understand. Even with Chance’s supports these challenges proved too difficult for his soul to
overcome. If love could have saved him, he would be here.
Chance did not let mental health define him. He was the one that was calling everyone else to check on
them. He was the one that was asking if everyone else was ok. He sincerely cared for each one in his
life. Chance was always Gone Fishing. If you were looking for him first place to look was by water. From
the very beginning of life, he was into fishing. At a young age he could tell you what types of fish there
was and where you could find them. Chance taught his siblings and mother how to fish. When it came
time to clean them, he asked his mom to help. Mom not knowing they used YouTube and figured it out
together. It might have been a mess the first few times but as always Chance battled the challenge and
was cleaning fish. We know he is “Gone Fishing” in heaven but in our hearts he will be fishing with us.
He is survived by his mother Nacole Kalish of Boscobel. Two brothers, Chase Ruetten and Cashton Olson
and one sister Cara Kalish of Boscobel. His father Steven Ruetten of Richland Center. His Maternal
Grandmother, Penny Kalish of Boscobel, Paternal Grandparents, Steve and Denise Ruetten of Richland
Center. Chance also has loving Aunts, Uncles, and many loving cousins. Chance was proceeded in death
by Steven B Kretschman his grandpa, great grandparents, and other family loved ones.
