Charlene "Sopher" Baker Obituary

On February 5, 2022, Charlene Y. Sopher Baker fell asleep and woke up in Heaven to be forever with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She was born in Richland County on April 9, 1930 to Charles and Bonnie (Weldy) Adams.  On October 10,1953 she married Frank Sopher at Maple Ridge Bible Church. They were blessed with five children.  After Frank passed away, she met and married Earl Baker on March 2, 2002 in Richland Center, WI.       
    Charlene loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially on the holidays when we would sit around playing games and putting jigsaw puzzles together.  She made beautiful quilts for each of her grandchildren when they graduated from high school.  She enjoyed her church family and was a long time member of Maple Ridge Bible Church.
   Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bonnie Adams; a sister and brother-in-law, Bonita and Stanley Dalton; her first husband, Frank Sopher,  her second husband, Earl Baker; and her only son, Philip Sopher.
   Charlene is survived by her daughters:  Rebecca (Randall) Timmer of Hudsonville, MI.; Miriam (Mark) Ashbrook of Portage. WI; Rachel (Tad) Peak; Dawn; (Ted) Beinborn, both from Boscobel, WI; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn (Brad) Barnes of Bakersfield, CA.  She is survived by 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.  She is  survived two step children: Mark (Linda) Baker of Viroqua, WI and Trisha (Chris) Rost of Puerto Rico. She is also survived by her brother, Duane (Minta) Adams; sister, Kay (Greg) Butler; and sister-in-law, Eileen Sopher.
   A funeral is planned for Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Maple Ridge Bible Church at 11:00 AM with visitation prior from 9:00-11:00.  Pastors Noel Mayes and David Smith will officiate.  Burial will be in the Boscobel Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to Maple Ridge Bible Church.  The Kendall Funeral Service is assisting the family.
