Charlotte Ann Boughton

Charlotte A. Boughton, age 86 of Boscobel, passed away on Wednesday April 22,2026 at Edenbrook Nursing Home in Platteville, surrounded by her family.  She was born April 22, 1940 in Bell Center, Wisconsin, the daughter of Charles and Clarabelle (Sime) Horner.  She married Robert Boughton on December 6, 1958 in Gays Mills, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on July 5, 2017.

Charlotte believed in the simpler things in life. She was quiet and kind and always willing to help others. One of Charlotte’s passions was baking; she made the best bread and apple crisp. She always had extras in her freezer to share.  If she gave you one of her apple crisps or bread, you knew that you were special. Charlotte adored her family and they adored her. Some of the best times were sitting around the table at holidays and birthdays. The smell of good food and the sound of laughter always brought her great joy and several giggles. Early on in their marriage she worked alongside her husband, Bob at their family business. During this time Charlotte was  also a member of the Boscobel Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary.  Later on, Charlotte worked at several businesses in Boscobel where she made many lifelong friends with co-workers and customers.

She is survived by her children Jeffrey (Kimberly) Boughton of Boscobel, Charles (Juliann) Boughton of Lancaster, Marsha Parker of Boscobel, and Pamela (Mark) Cashman of Boscobel; 13 Grandchildren, 27 Great-Grandchildren, brother Ron (Ellen) Horner of Mt. Ida, and sister Sharon (Robert) Baumeister of Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Kyle Anthony Cashman, and a great grandson Oakley Thomas Halverson.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday April 28, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 208 Mary Street, Boscobel with Pastor Lance Wetter officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Gays Mills Cemetery in Gays Mills, WI.

Friends may call on Monday April 27, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Boscobel, and also on Tuesday April 28, 2026 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at St. John's Lutheran Church.
