Claire L. Straka, 92, of Wauzeka, WI, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Boscobel Care & Rehab in Boscobel, WI.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel.   Burial will be in the Wauzeka Cemetery.  Friends may call on Saturday, February 18, from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Claire was born on March 11, 1924, the son of Joe and Nellie (Soukup) Straka, on the farm where he spent his entire life.   He was a lifelong farmer on Pleasant Ridge Road in rural Wauzeka, and the land was very important to him.  He was also proud to have served as chairman of Marietta Township for 14 years.    
Claire is survived by a nephew, Paul (Jean) Straka; two nieces, Ruth (Harvey) Behrend and Barbara (Gary) Hazen; many great nieces and nephews, as well as numerous cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George (Helen) Straka; a sister, Alice (Harold) Clark; and three infant brothers.
