Debra K. Breggeman

Debra K. Breggeman, age 71, of DeForest, WI, passed away unexpectedly following a brief illness on Friday, June 19, 2026. She was born on March 29, 1955, in Boscobel, WI, the only child of Howard and Dorothy (Beattie) Kreul. She spent her childhood on the family farm on Hwy 61 between Boscobel and Fennimore. She loved the beauty and the serenity of the farm. She attended Boscobel schools and graduated from Boscobel High School in 1973. She received a two-year associate degree from Southwest Technical College in 1975. In May, 1975, she moved to Madison, WI and was employed by the Retirement Research Committee/Joint Survey Committee on Retirement Systems of Wisconsin Legislature from June, 1975 until 2006.

She met her husband, Dale Breggeman, in January 1985 and they were married at St. John's Lutheran Church in Boscobel on May 16, 1987. To this union, one son, Alexander, was born. They made their home in rural DeForest, WI. Deb loved her family, times spent at home and with nature, reading, history, nostalgia, and travel.

She is survived by her husband, Dale; a son, Alexander, and daughter-in-law, Erin. She was preceded in death by her parents Howard & Dorothy Kreul, father and mother in-law Warren and Ruth Bregeman, and recently her cat Pretzel.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life/luncheon for Debra on Monday, July 6, 2026 at The Cottonwood, 4716 Green River Road, Fennimore from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Per Debra's wishes, there will be no funeral. A private family burial will be held at the Boscobel Cemetery. Online condolences can be offered at www.kendallfuneralservice.com.
