Delores J. Drake (Curtis), devoted wife, mother, nanny, and friend passed away on July 20th, surrounded by her loving family. Delores was born on December 16,1936 in Crawford County. She married Floyd Drake on September10,1955 and they enjoyed 62 years together before his death in 2018. Delores worked on the family dairy farm all her married life until the milk cows were sold. She then worked for the Boscobel nursing home for 10 years before retiring.
Delores was a strong woman who enjoyed life, especially dancing with family and friends on the weekends. She was liked by everyone that she met and was described by so many as a sweet and special lady. She was an amazing cook and was well known for her yummy pies.
Delores is survived by her son Jeff, daughter Dawn (Tom Scanlan), granddaughters Mattea Scanlan (Andres Llico), McKenzie (Hunter) Hartke, Ambriel Renn-Scanlan (Doug Elmer), and 3 great grandsons: Teddy, Ben, and Danny. She is further survived by 2 nieces, a sister-in-law, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, parents Joe and Ruth Curtis, and brother John Curtis.
Funeral services will be held at the Kendall Funeral Home, 209 Mary Street, Boscobel on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. An additional time of visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service on Friday. Burial will be at the Haney Ridge Cemetery following the funeral. Lunch will be held at the Boscobel Bowling Alley after the burial.
