Doris Bohl, aged 90, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024 into the arms of Jesus, at Care and Rehab Boscobel, WI. She was born Doris Mae Ludkey on Dec 16, 1933 in Neshkoro, WI, to Albert and Lucille Ludkey. She was a proud resident of Fond du Lac, WI until 1976 when she met and married Willard Bohl of Fennimore, WI. After Dairy farming a few years in Fennimore, the Bohl’s retired and moved to Boscobel, WI in 1981.
Doris was passionate about her strong faith in Jesus Christ, and her family – including church family – was at the height of her priorities. Doris and Willard were long time members of the Boscobel Assembly of God church. Doris also had a love and passion for animals, especially cats, of which she had several sharing their home over the years. She was a fantastic cook and loved to cook for family and friends. She spent many years in ceramics, beautifully painting many items. At Boscobel Care and Rehab she really became quite renowned for her beautiful canvas paintings and other beautiful crafts. Her culinary and artistic skills were not passed on to her daughter. But her love for God, family and friends certainly was. She spent many hours praying for those she loved.
Doris was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, Albert and Lucille Ludkey, a brother Lloyd Ludkey and her husband of 40 years Willard Bohl. She is survived by a son, Dean (Jackie) Ludkey of Oshkosh, WI; a daughter, Dorothy Esters of Boscobel, WI, a son-in-love Jerry Esters of Boscobel, WI; 2 grandsons Lucas and Ryan Ludkey both of Wisconsin, brothers Terry (Donna) Ludkey of Madison, WI and Robert Ludkey of Grand Rapids, MI. Many friends and family at Boscobel Assembly of God Church and Care and Rehab Boscobel will miss her until we’re all united once again.
A memorial service and Celebration of Life will be held at Boscobel Assembly of God Church, 301 Chestnut Street, Boscobel on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 11am. Visitation is available between 10am and 11am. A lunch will be served in the church Fellowship Hall after the service.
