Dorothy A. Miller

Dorothy Ann Miller, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse with her family by her side. She was born in Highland, WI on May 19, 1934, daughter of the late Irving and Hazel (Thomas) Lamke. Dorothy was united in marriage to Burl Miller on June 2, 1954 at First Presbyterian Church in Highland, and they were blessed with nearly 70 years together. 

Dorothy had a passion for music and played the organ at church for many years. She played countless services, weddings, and funerals where she was able to make an impact with her musical talents. Dorothy also worked for the city for many years. She enjoyed working with ceramics and spending time with her family. Dorothy will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother by her family.

She is survived by her husband Burl Miller of Boscobel; daughter Marsha (Rick) Burkhamer of Richland Center; grandchildren Holly (Levi) Rognholt of Richland Center and Shannon (Danielle Nelson) Burkhamer of Richland Center; along with great-grandchildren Nash Burkhamer, Farrah Burkhamer, Daphne Rognholt, and Mira Rognholt. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 3, 2024 at the Back Roads Church, 104 Buchanan Street, Boscobel with Rev. Stan Pegram officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm with an additional hour of visiting time prior to the funeral service on Monday.
