Ernest "Ernie" Reynolds Jr. Obituary

Ernie H. Reynolds
Ernie was born February 1 st , 1955 to Ernest and Theresa Reynolds in Boscobel,
Wisconsin.
Ernie was a very successful and dedicated Boscobel High School wrestler,
highlighted in 1973 by becoming only the third BHS wrestler to ever qualify for the
WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament. His leadership and work ethic in those
early years of the Boscobel Wrestling Program helped build a strong wrestling
tradition, which he was always very proud to have been a part of.
Ernie was a proud Operating Engineer of Local 139, following in his father’s
footsteps as a heavy machine operator, retiring in 2016. He also worked for 13 years
for Grant County, farmed for more than a decade in Crawford County, ran a
bulldozing and excavation business, was a handyman who could fix or build
anything, and always did what he said he was going to do.
He married Ava Broadbent on December 18 th , 1982 at the United Methodist Church
in Boscobel. He was a loving man, raising his two daughters after Ava’s death on
January 13 th , 1993. He was a devoted and loyal friend and enjoyed the Meetings of
the Mindless with his buddies. He was always ready to share a beer and
conversation, and he was always the first to show up if you needed help. Ernie was
an avid woodsman and enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. He spent many
recent summers with friends, family, and his dog, Dozer, out on the Mississippi
relaxing and fishing on his pontoon.
He lived life to the fullest and had many stories to tell. He loved classic and
psychedelic rock music, and spent a lot of his time in his garage planning his next
project. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and went out the way he lived, riding
free with a pistol on his side.
Ernie is survived by two daughters, Layne (John Pitzer) Reynolds of Beaumont,
Texas, and Lili (Clint) Fandrich of Arequipa, Peru; his mother, Theresa (Guernsey)
Reynolds, and sister Cathy (Ray) Folyer of Linden, Texas; brothers, Jim (Becky)
Reynolds of Boscobel, and Terry (Kathy) Reynolds of Stevens Point; beloved life
partner, Connie Kinyon, and her children, Chris (Mandy) Kinyon, Ahriel and Brianna
Boak; grandchildren, Christopher Pitzer, Payton, Carson, and Landon Kinyon, and
Max Brennan; mothers-in-law, Marie Fuller and Ruby Bender; sisters-in-law, Sheila
Broadbent, Dianne (Mel) Cook, Dawn (Terry Nelson) Kinyon, and brother-in-law,
Denny Kinyon; several nieces and nephews; and his adored dog, Dozer.
Ernie was preceded in death by his wife, Ava (Broadbent) Reynolds; father, Ernest
Reynolds; father-in-law, Ora Fuller; sister-in-law, Phyllis Broadbent; brothers-in-law,
Robert and Stuart Broadbent.
