Faye (Nelson) Bloedow

Faye Bloedow, age 88 of Boscobel, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at the Boscobel Care and Rehab surrounded by her family.  She was born August 29, 1936 in Scott Twp. Crawford County, Wisconsin.  The daughter of the late Hartwick and Vera (Briggs) Nelson.

She married Robert Bloedow on June 6, 1955 in Marquette, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2021.

Faye was a loving person.  She was as sweet as pie. Faye wasn't afraid to stand her ground. She was a hard worker at Badger Ordinances and was the first female foreman.  Her and Bob also owned the tavern in Mt. Zion called "The Sidetrack". Faye also issued burning permits for the DNR. She was township clerk for Scott, Township, for several years.  Faye put in a huge garden every year and canned many quarts of vegetables over the years. She loved to sew, play Euchre, travel, listen to music, and dance.

Faye is survived by her children, John (Darlene) Bloedow of Mt. Zion, Barb (Gary) Degenhardt of Boscobel, Mary (Mike) Knight of Soldiers Grove, Wayne Bloedow of Viroqua, and Sue (Kenneth) Fry of Mt. Zion; 21 Grandchildren, 36 Great-Grandchildren, and one Great-Great-Grandson. She is further survived by two sisters, Gert Taylor of Muscoda and Jeanie (Jerry) Sieling of Madison; sisters-in-law, Lavina Powers of Prairie du Chien, Nancy Nelson of Boscobel, Eileen Stanbeck of Onalaska, and Margie Olson of Avoca; as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Dorothy Bloedow of Boscobel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two angel sons: Cheyenne and Carl Bloedow; sister, Nelsetta Bay; brother-in-law, Harlan Bay; and two brothers, Mervin Nelson and Ben Nelson.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday April 23, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Five Points Lutheran Church at Five Points. Pastor Larry Engle officiating burial in the church cemetery.  Friends may call on Wednesday April 23, 2025 from 9:00A.M. until the time of service at Five Points Lutheran Church at Five Points, from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.
