George L. Blake, age 89 of Boscobel, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025. He was born on August 14, 1935, son of the late Charles and Amy (Miller) Blake. George proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He married Donna Richmond, Pearl Ripke, and Joyce Johnson; all preceded him in death. George worked for John Deere for many years and was also a school bus driver for Fennimore for 17 years. He loved going fishing, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with family and friends. George also enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and dancing. He will be missed dearly by those that knew him.
George is survived by his brother Eddie (Lynda) Miller of Canada along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wives Donna Richmond, Pearl Ripke, and Joyce Johnson; sisters Ellen Rider, Barb Pettera, and Beverly Colson; brothers Robert Blake and Charles Blake, along with his parents.
The funeral service with military honors for George will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at the Kendall Funeral Service, 209 Mary Street, Boscobel with Rev. Stan Pegram officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 am until the time of the service. He will be laid to rest at the Prairie Cemetery in Fennimore.
