Army Veteran
George E. Dilley, age 93 of Boscobel passed away on Wednesday March 15, 2023 at Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse. He was born December 14, 1929 in Excelsior Wisconsin. The son of William and Ethel (Copus) Dilley.
He was an Army veteran, farmer, feedmill worker and worked for the city of Boscobel for several years where he eventually retired. His hobbies were bowling, pitching horseshoes, playing & coaching baseball & softball, fixing lawnmowers and maintaining a large weed free garden. He donated the produce to many in the community. He loved going to his grandchildrens & great grandchildrens music and sporting events.
He is survived by one daughter, Laura Wetter of Boscobel and Mike Hanson of Blue River. One son Greg (Linda) Dilley of Boscobel. 5 Grandchildren; Lindsay Dilley (Josh Eckert), Brent (Rachel) Wetter, Lucretia (Kevin) Wilson II, Justin (Lauren) Wetter, Lacey Dilley (Trever Koch). 3 Great-Grandchildren; Kayden Weahkee, Jarren Weahkee, Khloe Lewallen. One sister Miona Young of Boscobel. One brother John (Leila) Dilley of Pardeeville. Sister in laws, Rita Dilley of Blue River and Genieva (Pat) Dilley of Janesville. He was preceded in death by his parents,5 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday March 20, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Pastor Lance Wetter officiating. Burial will be in Westfork Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday March 20, 2023 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to the Boscobel Rescue Squad or the Boscobel Fire Department. Military honors will be accorded by the Gilbertson Pitzer Radley Post# 10393 VFW and the Blake Semrad American Legion Post # 134 both of Boscobel.
