Gregory J. Butler, age 86 of Gays Mills went home to be with Lord and Savior October 25, 2025 at his home peacefully surrounded by his family.
He was born June 11, 1939 in Grant County to Peter and Belva Butler. He married Kay Adams on June 18th 1960 at Maple Ridge Bible Church. Gregory farmed near his parent's farm from 1960 to 1972 before moving to Seneca to continue farming the remainder of his life. He enjoyed doing his crops and watching them grow. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and also mushroom hunting. His grandchildren were the highlight of his life. Greg was a member of the Maple Ridge Bible Church and enjoyed sharing the gospel with the children in the AWANA Youth Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Butler (Brother). Diane (niece).
He is survived by his wife Kay Butler, children, Dale Butler, Boscobel, Dennis Butler, Gays Mills, Denise (Earl) Winsor, Gays Mills, Duane Butler, Gays Mills, Doyle Butler, Gays Mills, Donita (Adam) Silvia, Mt. Sterling. He had 11 grandchildren; Matthew (Carla), Ronald (Selena), Arthur (Sarah), Mary (Brian), Adam (Annalie), Leland (Brenna), Nathaniel, Michael, Grace, Josiah, Isaiah and 15 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way! He is also survived by his siblings, Gary Butler, David Butler, Mary (Roger) Kerr, Roger (Christine) Butler all of Boscobel. Carol (David) Nankey of Highland and Richard Butler, Boscobel.
The memorial service for Greg will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Maple Ridge Bible Church, 43955 County Road E, Boscobel. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am until the time of the service. He will be laid to rest at the Maple Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
