Hazel M. Crowley, age 95 of Steuben, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. She was born on July 8, 1929, daughter of the late George and Cora (O’Brien) LeGeune. Hazel married Bernard Crowley on July 28, 1959 and they were blessed with seven children. She loved to cook, bake, and take care of her family. Hazel enjoyed playing cards with friends as well as the occasional trip to the casino for fun. She liked crocheting and all kinds of crafts to work on. Hazel was also a talented musician who taught herself to play the organ and accordion by ear. What she treasured most though was spending time with her family. Hazel’s family loved her dearly, and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children Sheila (Larry “David”) Cade of Blue River, Bernadine Mezera of Boscobel, Kevin Crowley of Steuben, and Peggy (Bob) Lee of Gays Mills; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, along with other relatives, and friends.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Crowley, children Sheryal Fitzgibbons, Steven Wiser, and Bernard Crowley, Jr.; grandson Tyler Crowley-Lee, her seven siblings along with their spouses, and her parents.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Seneca. Online condolences can be offered at www.kendallfuneralservice.com.
