Ivan Wilcox Obituary

Ivan C. Wilcox, age 92 of Boscobel, passed away on Sunday May 9, 2021 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg.  He was born May 14, 1928 in rural Mt. Ida.  The son of Claude and Elizabeth (Orr) Wilcox. He married Joyce Lenzendorf on January 23, 1948 at the Methodist Church Parsonage in Fennimore. She preceded him in death on June 12, 2012.  
He was above all a family man.  He showed this in his interactions with not only his 12 children, but his 35 grandchildren and 50 Great-Grandchildren, and Great-Great-Grandchildren . He owned and operated the Wicox Blacksmith and Sonsssss welding shop until he retired due to health.  He was so proud to have his son Allen take over.
In 1964, he and his children visited the WI Pavilion at the Worlds Fair in New York City.  Later he purchased the Pavilion and trucked, and assembled it back to Neilsville, Wi.  They made it into a radio station. Every September 17th is declared Ivan Wilcox Day!
He loved to travel and could recall many exciting adventures which included England, Hawaii, and enjoyed camping.
Dad loved his town of Boscobel and especially the Tuffley Senior Center and Nursing home often playing cards and tried making everyone feel sepcial.
He is survived by his children; Sandra Glasbrenner of Boscobel, Kathy (Mike) Nugent of Boscobel, Cherrie (Tim) Brown of Boscobel, Robin (Tim) Bichel of Caledonia Mn., Judy (Curt) Atkinson of Edgerton, Buffey Wilcox of Marshall, Troy (Jodi) Wilcox of Boscobel, Lance (Jennifer) Wilcox of Orlando, Fl., Ni-Gee Jones and Ronnie Marquis of La Rue Ohio, Barry (Amber) Wilcox of Edgerton, Brandee (Becki) Wilcox of Orlando. 35 Grandchildren 50 Great-Grandchildren, 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren. A daughter in law; Rebecca Wilcox of LaCrescent Mn. Two sister in laws; Marjene Leffler of Fennimore, Joan Moore of Nekoosa Wi. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Allen Wilcox. A son in law Jeff Glasbrenner. Three brothers: Francis, LaVerne, and Leo Wilcox. Two sisters; Arlene Webster, Wilma Waterman.
Private Funeral Services will be held on Saturday May 15, 2021, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Boscobel. Pastor Nicole Espe officiating. Burial in the Boscobel Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday May 14, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Those attending, masks are required and social distancing enforced. Friends may also attend burial at the  Boscobel Cemetery  on Saturday May 15 2021 at 11:45 A.M. Online condolences can be sent to www.kendallfuneralservice.com
