Jacquelin J. Bennett

Jacquelin J. “Jacki” Bennett, age 78 of Boscobel, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2024 with her family by her side. She was born on July 14, 1946, daughter of the late Arthur and Evelyn (Peterson) Reid. She married Patrick Kelly on April 6, 1968, and they were blessed with eleven years of marriage before he passed away in 1979. Jacki later married David Bennett on July 16, 1993 in Lancaster. 

She enjoyed completing the New York Times crossword puzzle and did this every day, in pen. She loved to read, especially murder mysteries. Dave and Jacki  enjoyed traveling on several cruises and to Florida to visit their daughters and grandsons; Cookie always accompanied these trips. She loved to craft, grow flowers and snuggling with the grandbabies and great grandbabies.

Jacki is survived by her husband, Dave, of Boscobel, daughters Meaghan (Kelly) Vils of Lodi, Tara (Mike) Stimpson of Boscobel, Courtney (Steve) Tisdale of Boscobel, Becky Bennett of New Port Richey, FL, and her canine daughter Cookie. 14 grandchildren, Patrick, Erin, and Brecken Govier, Samantha, Kris, and Sydney Vils, Michael (Simone), Alex (Abbey), and Emma Stimpson, Brendan (Shelby) and Connor Tisdale, Brenden Davis, Joey Ricketts and Nicole Alvarez. 5 great-grandchildren Michael and Snow Stimpson Emslie Stimpson, Cooper and Carsyn Tisdale, brother Thomas (Mary Ann) Reid of Fitchburg, sisters Pat Reid (Dan) of Boscobel, and Lori Reid (Kirk) of Boscobel. Brother and sister in laws Don (Michelle) Bennett, Barb (Butch) Dresen, Pat (Bill) Miles, and Tim (Louise) Bennett along with many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband Patrick Kelly, daughter Amy Bennett, and her parents.

The memorial service for Jacki will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 23, 2024 at the Kendall Funeral Service, 209 Mary Street, Boscobel with Rev. Lance Wetter officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Jacki will be laid to rest at the Boscobel Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the Boscobel Bowl & Banquet following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Boscobel Fire Department are appreciated.
