James A. Frey

James A. “Jim” Frey, age 67, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, October 8, 2022. He was born on November 24, 1954 to the late Bob and Lorraine Frey and resided in Boscobel. Jim grew up on the family farm and went on to own an auto and boat repair business. He proudly owned Jim’s Auto Body and Marine in Boscobel for many years. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved to ride motorcycles and spend time with family and friends. It was amongst his family and friends who affectionately referred to him as “Spacey,” whether he liked it or not. Jim was known to be the life of the party who could make a friend anywhere. He had a green thumb and enjoyed spending countless hours in his garden. Jim was loved dearly by his family and friends and will be truly missed.

He is survived by his lifelong partner Deborah Gardner of Boscobel, sons Chris Frey of Boscobel, Luke (Sarah) Frey of Boscobel; grandchildren Franky, Rugar, and Cinch Frey; siblings Dennis (Mary) Frey of Nevada, John Frey of Wyoming, Shan (Mark) Kramer of Green Lake, WI, Patricia (Jessie) Williams of California, and Robert (Julie) Frey of Boscobel; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and niece Cynthia Marie Frey.
