James V. "Jim" Rounds, age 71 of Boscobel, passed away on Thursday August 4, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family, after battling pancreatic cancer He was born October 20, 1950 in Boscobel. The son of Vernon and Lois (Foster) Rounds. He married Roxanne Richter on April 26, 1975 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville.
Jim graduated from Boscobel High School in 1967. He attended Southwest Wisconsin Technical College graduation from the first Auto/Tractor Repair program class of 1968/1970. He then worked at Farmers Implement in Bloomington for 5 years. Jim was united in marriage to Roxanne Richter of Cassville in 1975. Together they started Dairy farming, renting in rural Bloomington, Fennimore and then in 1980 moved to rural Boscobel to the farm they bought and raised their family. Retiring from dairy farming, Jim worked for Cauffman Custom Farming, Wepking Plumbing and then Premier Co-op of Fennimore until 2021. Jim had many hobbies: Hunting, fishing, dancing with Roxanne, fixing equipment, spending time with his kids, grand kids, and friends, helping anyone in need and was always up for conversation.
He is survived by his wife Roxanne Rounds of Boscobel. His children, Jeremy (Courtney) Rounds of Boscobel, Justin "Vern" Rounds of Boscobel, Joyel (Robert) Graetz of Lansing Kansas, Jeanna (Dustin) Dixon of Lancaster. Five sisters, Linda (Mike)Peterson-Fowler of Hawaii, June Muzzi of Madison, Joyce (Dean) Roth of Boscobel, Jane (Roger) Pink of Platteville, and Mary (Mike) Scanlan of Fennimore . Nine grandchildren, Wyatt, Cooper, Addison, Wesley, Owen, Penelope, Alyssa, Daisy, and Carly. Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and brother in law; Ileen and Charles Wong, and a niece Brenda Updike.
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday August 27, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Boscobel. Pastor Stan Pegram officiating. Burial will be at a later date, in the Hickory Grove Cemetery, rural Boscobel. Friends may call on Friday August 26, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the united Methodist Church in Boscobel. Friends may also call on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service, at the church. The Kendall Funeral Service in Boscobel is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family, in order to establish a memorial in Jim's name at Southwest Tech.
