Jan M. Richter age 70 of Boscobel, passed away on Saturday June 26, 2021 at Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse.  She was born October 14, 1950 in Boscobel Wisconsin.  The daughter of Lyle and Agnes (Mallat) Richter. 
After Graduating high school, Jan attended Madison Beauty College and obtained her Manager's License.  She worked in Prairie du Chien, Fennimore and Boscobel. After that career she purchased Boscobel Bowl and Banquet with her brother Stacey and they operated it 26 years until her retirement in 2020.  She enjoyed time with friends and family, and her family duties included "spoiling her 7 nephews" (note the lucky #7) Due to her spoiling her nephews  we had the "Aunt Jan Special" and the "Big Ole Double Cheeseburger" at the Bowling Alley. She loved to bake any form of bars that had chocolate and peanuts butter in them (had to be Skippy brand). She enjoyed going to Las Vegas and any type of Pools!!  Her great love of the Chicago Bears was realized when she attended a "Bears" game at Soldiers Field!!  She will enter heaven wearing a "Property of Chicago Bears" sweatshirt, since that was her wish.  She acquired  the nickname "Jan the Bears Fan" and "Lucky Jan"!! Living in Wisconsin, other Bears fans would be proud of her because she endured a lot of teasing during the bad times, yet she never gloated during their good times. Jan was also an avid Elvis fan and was blessed to go to Graceland.
She is survived by two brothers, Paul (Carol) Richter of Altoona Ia., Stacey (Mary) Karsten of Boscobel. A sister, Sheila (Ron) Stickley of Phillips Wisconsin. She is also survived by seven Nephews; Craig, Chris and Erik Richter, Michael and Kyle Stickley, and Alex and Zach Karsten. She was preceded in death by her parents, and step father Leo Karsten.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday July1, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel.  Pastor Rich McLear officiating. Burial in the Boscobel Cemetery.  Friends may call on Thursday July 1, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel.  In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to the Boscobel Rescue Squad.  Online condolences can be made at www.kendallfuneralservice.com
