Janna Smith Obituary

Janna V. Smith, age 60 of Boscobel, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. She was born on April 25, 1965, daughter of the late John and Alyce (Adkins) Hines. Janna married Thomas Smith in Lancaster on October 3, 1983, and he preceded her in death. She had a passion for reading and loved getting caught up in a good book. Janna enjoyed being active with her family, and they have many great memories while camping, watching her son-in-law race and spending time on the beach. Janna was very trusted by her family and had a knack for giving the best advice. What she treasured the most though was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Janna will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by her children Crystal (Doyle) Cavender, Ashley (Lisa) Smith, Missy (fiancé Collin) Francke, and Cheyenne (Travis) Atkinson; 18 grandchildren, her siblings John (Pam) Hines, Dohnnie Hines, Lohnnie Hines, Jamie (Nicole Laird) Hines, Juli Kelly, Kyrie (Shelly) Hines; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Janna was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Smith (Aug 24, 1995) , her parents John and Alyce Adkins, her parents-in-law Milton and Ruby Smith, sister Jillann Matthews, brother Scot Hines, nephew Trevor Hines, and an infant great-grandchild.

Janna’s wishes were to be cremated, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are appreciated. Online condolences can be offered at www.kendallfuneralservice.com.
