Jeffrey "Jeff" Biege Obituary

Jeffrey R. "Jeff" Biege, age 60 of Boscobel, passed away on Tuesday May 24, 2022 at his residence in Boscobel, as a result of a Saddle Pulmonary Embolism.

Jeff was born October 5, 1961 in Oconomowoc Wisconsin, the first of Robert and Kay (Totten) Biege’s three children. He was a father and stepfather to six, and loving husband to Mendy, married July 13, 2013. Jeff was the Broker/Owner of Century 21 Affiliated in Boscobel and also worked as a Mobile Notary throughout Wisconsin and Iowa.

Jeff was a quiet, thoughtful person. He carried a calm demeanor and was a steady comfort to those around him. He was an intelligent man, often quiet and contemplative, but spoke enthusiastically about his many topics of passion. He added wisdom to any conversation and would always lend a listening ear.

Jeff had a humble, servant's heart, and loved to help others. He wasn’t afraid of hard work and would drop what he was doing for the opportunity to help his friends with their projects. He was a ready volunteer and regardless of the task, Jeff could be depended on to help.  He rarely was in the forefront but could be found in the background diligently working. Jeff never put off or ignored things he saw that needed to be done.

Jeff’s dependability ran deep into his family as well, whom he loved sincerely.  A constant in their lives, Jeff was always available to family for support and advice. Jeff was an observant listener which he used to express his love and connect with his family. He never stopped trying to be a better husband and father, taking every opportunity to show his support and devotion to them. Jeff always strove for personal improvement, seeking out classes and volunteer opportunities to become a better parent for his four children. When he married Mendy, Jeff embraced step-parenting with the same fervor. He was a caring father figure in the lives of his two step-children, and provided them the same love and support.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Jeff know he never sat still. His backyard oasis was a labor of love for him, and he could usually be found outside working on one of several landscaping projects. He was very proud of his backyard and was constantly working to improve it. The shape and color of rocks from the shores of Lake Superior struck a chord with him, and he took many trips to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to find just the right rocks for his gardens.

Jeff loved adventure and traveled to many diverse places. He was baptized in the Jordan River of Israel, honeymooned on the beaches of Puerto Vallarta, hiked the White Mountains of New Hampshire, soaked in the Chena Hot Springs in Alaska, and had planned a two-week tour of Europe in July. One of his proudest accomplishments came on his 50th birthday, with a single-day rim-to-rim hike of the Grand Canyon where he spent his early 20’s exploring.

Jeff had an innate ability to connect with any and all animals. They responded to Jeff’s calm demeanor and often sought him out. Jeff had many pets throughout his life and many other strays that he befriended. Through his work, Jeff went into many homes with pets and to the amazement of their owners, by the end of his visit, the pets were his friends and either laying calmly next to him or on his lap.

He is survived by his wife, Mendy Biege of Boscobel. His children Alex Biege, Aaron Biege, Max Biege, and Claire Biege all of Boscobel, Aaron Christensen (Sierra Kleist) of White River Junction, Vermont and Mollie Christensen (Tyler Fruik) of Madison. His mother Kay (Howard) Seybold of Longwood, Florida and his father Bob Biege of Baraboo. A brother Brad (Maria) Biege of High Point, N.C. and sister Jill Biege (Rodney Muhammed) of Longwood, Florida.
