Obituary

Jerrilyn Jo Stowell
Jerri was born on February 14, 1945 to John and Emily (Vopalensky) Yonash on the home
farm in Crawford County. She graduated from Boscobel High School in 1963. Jerri married
Elmer (Duke) Stowell on October 10, 1964 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Boscobel, WI.

Jerri passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Gundersen Health Center, LaCrosse, WI,
after a brief illness that she fought to the end.

Jerri worked at Frito Lay in Madison for 2 years and Advance Transformer for 7 years. Jerri
bowled for many years with The Blackhawk Manhattan team, Jerri took care of her elderly parents
for 11 years and worked in the home dept. at Gasser True Value Boscobel for 7 years. She
than work at the toy and sporting goods dept.’s at the Walmart in Richland Center for 14 years,
while raising a family.

Jerri was the happiest when she was home working in her flowers, watching and
taking care of her birds (especially the hummingbirds, orioles and cardinals), being with her family
and talking with her friends on Facebook.

Jerri is survived by her husband of 55 years Elmer (Duke) Stowell, Boscobel; daughter
Dian (Gene) Freymiller, Boscobel; son Doug (Sara) Stowell, Wauzeka; 4 grandchildren
Cody (fiancé Brittany Roscovius), LaCrosse, WI; Casey (Emma) Freymiller, Richmond, Virginia;
Ellah Jones and Banx Stowell, Wauzeka; great granddaughter Lillian Freymiller, Richmond,
Virginia; brother Bryce (Sheri) Yonash, Hudson, WI; brother in laws and sister in laws; Betty
Cook, Clarksville, Tennessee; Don (Carolyn) Stowell, Louisburg, Kansas; Bob (Sue) Stowell,
Sun Prairie, Wi.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, half-sister Janice Martin, sister
Jackie Beattie and brother in law Fred Beattie.

Due to the Covid-19 we will be having a celebration of Jerri’s life later at her beloved family farm.
Donations in her memory can be made to the Boscobel Fire Dept. and Boscobel EMS.
