John Kilby Obituary

Dateline-Lone Rock/Boscobel
John P. Kilby, age 39 of Boscobel, and formerly of Lone Rock, passed away on Thursday April 21, 2022 at Gundersen Health System in Boscobel.  He was born August 9, 1982 in Richland Center Wisconsin.  The son of Darrell and Shirley (Fetzek) Kilby. He  married Lindsey Beckius on May 18, 2019 at St. Philips Catholic Church in Rolling Ground.

Growing up in Lone Rock, John attended River Valley Schools.
Over the years John held diverse employment. From various manufacturing positions to a local creamery to most recently as a customer care agent.
Throughout his life, John enjoyed a broad variety of past times. As a youngster taking country rides with Grandma to see the farms and cows always brought him joy. Being in the country as an adult was always an enjoyment for John, particularly time spent at Lindseys parents home. Growing up he shared time with special uncle Kippy whether it was holding a fishing pole or just talking "man stuff". Being an avid sports fan, he attended various sporting events, often traveling out of state for games with friends. There wasn't a NASCAR race he missed, especially when Rusty Wallace was running the circuit, race days were not to be interrupted. From early childhood you could often find John deep in a good mystery novel with his beginning of R.L. Stine and beyond into a good suspense/thriller. John was known to be a ruthless euchre player and could throw a wicked dart, both of which he showed no mercy to those who found themselves against him. Often he could be found seated at a challenging board game at family gatherings, in particular fantasy games such as Dungeons and Dragons and various others. His love of dragons amassed him a collection of figurines you could find displayed anywhere in his home. Video gaming had become a favorite pastime he developed over the years both console and online, from the classic Zelda to Assassin's Creed, a passion he shared with his oldest niece Emily.
Johns love for his family and friends was immearsureable, it reflected on the life he lived. The bond John shared with his nieces and nephews is one of profound strength, that even with his passing, yet remains. Johns gentle nature, easy going banter, quick wit and humor will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have shared his life.

He is survived by his wife Lindsey Kilby of Boscobel. His Mother; Shirley Kilby of Richland Center. His Father; Darrell (Juanitta) Kilby of rural Lone Rock. His siblings; Tammy Kilby of Darlington, Ann (Brian) Eckstein of Prairie du Sac, Joni (Drew) Hyzer of Lodi, Nicole Kilby of Richland Center, Timothy Kilby of Richland Center. Several Nieces, Nephews and extended family. In laws; Michael and Terri Beckius (Blue River) and family. He was preceded in death by his godfather and uncle Paul John Fetzek along with his former spouse Brenda Buelow.
