Karen J. Brown, age 78, of Boscobel, passed away on Friday August 25, 2023 at her residence, surrounded by family. She was born June 19, 1945 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; the daughter of Frank and Lorraine (Scheuren) Kopling. She married Reed Brown on June 3, 1967 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. She enjoyed reading Danielle Steel novels, crocheting, boating, and rooting for the Packers.
Karen is survived by her husband Reed Brown of Boscobel, her children, Brenda (Jeff) Terp of Wind Lake, Brent (Tina) Brown of Boscobel, and Brittani (Brad) Phelps of Waunakee, and seven grandchildren (Elizabeth, Claire, Samantha, Alison, Griffin, Mallory and Colton), a brother Frank (Rosie) Kopling of Merton, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Judy Jones.
A visitation, 11:00 AM, and memorial service, 1:30 PM, will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel with Pastor Mark Peters officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Boscobel EMS, Boscobel Fire Department, or Locks of Love, a charity very close to Karen.
