Kathryn "Kathy" M (Syvertsen) Elliott

Kathryn (Kathy) M. Elliott, 87 of Boscobel died on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2020 surrounded by her 5 loving daughters.

She was born November 7, 1932 in Crawford County, Wisconsin, daughter of Henry and Mae (Gould) Syvertsen.

She married Robert (Bob) Elliott on April 11, 1953 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Boscobel.

She is survived by five daughters, Marsha (Steve) Sisley, Lancaster, Mary Kay (Larry) Fry, Rotonda West, FL, Marlys (John) Hennessy, twins, Melony (Chuck) Owens, and Melisa (Scott) Cornell, all of Boscobel; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Rachel) Syvertsen, Tucson, AZ, and their children.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister, Betty (Arliss) Mickelson.

Kathy was a faithful, loving, selfless, generous person.  After graduating from Gays Mills High School, she worked in Madison at Walgreen’s and State of Wisconsin Department of Licensing.  She would ride the bus or train back to Boscobel every weekend.  In Boscobel she worked at Piggly Wiggly, Murphy & Nye, Lands End, and finally retiring from Hobbi Stitch. 

Over the years, Bob and Kathy enjoyed dancing, playing cards and spending time with friends and family, especially their grandchildren.  Prior to Bob’s passing, you could find them on the family farm in Marietta Valley or making their yearly trip to Branson.  Kathy enjoyed sewing quilts, decorating cakes, and ceramics.

Special thanks to the staff at Lancaster Health Services, formerly Atrium Care Facility, and St. Croix Hospice who graciously cared for Kathy over the last four years.

Private services will be held on Saturday, May 16th at Corpus Christi Parish in Boscobel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Corpus Christi Parish, Boscobel, Lancaster Health Services, or St. Croix Hospice, Platteville.

The Kendall Funeral Service assisted the family with the arrangements.
