LaVon L. Lathrop, age 91 of Gays Mills, passed away on Wednesday April 6, 2022 at his home, in rural Gays Mills.  He was born July 1, 1930 in Haney Township, Crawford County Wisconsin.  The son of Harold Warren and Millie May (Boak) Lathrop. He married Noma Wallin on June 16, 1950 at the United Methodist Church in Gays Mills.
LaVon farmed his entire life and work for John Deere for over 30 years. He was the chairman for Haney Township and served as the Director of Haney Ridge Cemetery Association for since he was 15 years old. 
He is survived by his wife Noma Lathrop of Gays Mills. Daughters, Lynda Lathrop (Rob Beaver) of Washington, Liane (Buzz) Cornell of Boscobel, Julie (Rob) Blair of Boscobel. A son, Joe Lathrop (Chris Dressler) of Gays Mills. 20 grandchildren Candi (Tom), Josh (Cheryl), Miriah (Weston), Danielle (John), Casey (Derek), Amber, Linsie (Chad), Leslie (Mark), Cody, Caleb (Tracy), Cyley, Calli (Marcus), Danica, Tashina (Jeremy), Serita (Rob), Jed (Breanna), Dylan (Sadie), Collin (Sam), Makida, Koryn and 39 great-grandchildren. One brother, Larry (Jane) Lathrop of Janesville. Sister in Laws, Dorothy Lathrop of California, and Sharon Lathrop of Gays Mills.  He was preceded in death by his parents Harold Warren and Millie May Lathrop, a daughter Terri Lynn Lathrop, two brothers LeRoy Lathrop and Lyle Lathrop. A great-granddaughter Brownyn Babb.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday April 11, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Mt. Zion. Pastor Stan Pegram officiating.  Burial in the Haney Ridge Cemetery, rural Gays Mills. Friends may attend visitation on Sunday April 10, 2022 from 2:00-6:00 P.M. at the Kendall Funeral home in Boscobel, and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church.
