LeRoy J. Laufenberg

LeRoy J. Laufenberg, age 92, of Mount Hope, passed away on Sunday December 26, 2021 at Grant Regional Health System in Lancaster. 

He was born May 22, 1929 in Potosi Township, Grant County, the son of William and Leona (Wood) Laufenberg. 

He married Ardith Christ on December 7, 1949. She preceded him in death on August 24, 1996. He farmed his entire life.  

He is survived by his children, Cheryl (Darrell) Noethe of Patch Grove, Beverly Esser of Mineral Point, Jeanne (Kirk) Kessler of Denton Tx, Nancy (Ron) Schmitz of Beetown, Edward (Chris) Laufenberg of Mount Hope, Ann Wilkinson of Mount Hope, Terry Laufenberg of Mount Hope; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three sisters, Doris Krogman of Prairie du Chien, Carolyn Keeney of Mount Hope, Joanne (Mike) Carroll of McGregor Ia.,; three sisters-in-law, Sally Rogers of Madison, Alabama, Joanne Christ of Prairie du Chien, Pauline Christ of Wauzeka. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lee and Carl Laufenberg; two sisters, Arlene Stoeffler, Marjorie Miller; a grandson, Clint Potter; two sons-in-law, Tim Wilkinson, Gary Esser; and a daughter-in-law, Laurie Laufenberg.

According to LeRoy’s wishes no formal visitation or service will be held.

Burial will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church Cemetery. rural Mount Hope.
