Loyd Jones

Loyd L. Jones, age 71 of Boscobel, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at his residence in Boscobel, surrounded by his family.  

He was born July 24, 1951 in Boscobel, the son of Fred and Margie (Dobson) Jones. He married Jacqui Nicholson on May 11, 1994 in Boscobel.

Loyd spent his working years at Boscobel Refrigeration and Murray Electric. As well as being a handyman for friends and family.

No one will ever forget his love of music. The many years he had taught local young musicians to play the guitar. He was also well known for playing with local bands, Tremor, Fast Action, and many others.

He is survived by his life partner, Jacqui Jones of Boscobel; a stepson, Davian Bailey Jones of Jamaica; two grandchildren; a brother, Chuck (Melony) Owens of Boscobel; a sister, Gail (Lisa) Owens of Madison; a sister-in-law, Marlys Jones of Tempe, Az. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Jones; his mother, Margie Owens; his stepfather, Perry Owens; two brothers, Alan Jones and Gorden Jones; a sister, Gloria Dawley.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Pastor Lance Wetter officiating. Burial will be at a later date. A luncheon will be held at 2 p.m. at the Tuffley Center in Boscobel.

Friends may call on Monday, July 10, 2023 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel.
