Margaret "Marge" Lenz Obituary

Dateline- Prairie du Chien/ Wauzeka
Margaret A. "Marge" Lenz, age 87 of Prairie du Chien and formerly of Wauzeka, passed away on Monday February 21, 2022 at Crossing River Health Care  in Prairie du Chien.  She was born July 30, 1934 in Clayton Township, Crawford County Wisconsin.  The daughter of Maurice and Iva (Freeman) Whiteaker.  She married Frank Lenz on March 17, 1952 at Jesus Christ of Latterer- Day Saints at Montgomeryville. He preceded her in death on May 15, 2017.
Marge was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with, and caring for, her family and friends.  Her passions shared the common theme of giving of herself by providing care and comfort to all those she loved so deeply.  She was passionate about cooking and baking for anyone who loved to eat.  She was also known for her knitting and cake decorating.  Family and friends received beautiful, handmade gifts of sweaters, blankets, socks, and mittens.  Unique birthday cakes were a favorite among her grandchildren.

Marge worked in and served Southwest Wisconsin throughout her life.  She loved volunteering for Catholic Charities, Faith In Action, and the Department of Aging.  She willfully and happily spent many hours serving in any capacity needed of her faith community.  Marge spent many years sharing her skills as an instructor of knitting and cake decorating at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College.  She also guided visitors and managed the gift shop at the Villa Louis for many years.  Later in life, Marge spent 25 years as a property manager for Meridian Corporation and was a real estate agent.

After losing her husband, Frank Lenz, Marge resided at Bluff Haven Assisted Living.  There Marge enjoyed and valued the many friendships she made with her fellow residents and the staff.  Those relationships, along with the loving care she received, enriched her final years.  Marge's family is also grateful for the compassionate care she received from Crossing Rivers staff and hospice.

Marge will be greatly missed and lovingly held in the memories of her family and friends every day.
