Michael "Mike" Beckius, 62, of Blue River, WI, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2023, at Soldiers Grove Health Services, in Soldiers Grove, surrounded by his family. After a long illness with Alzheimer's. He was born on May 8, 1961, in Kenosha, WI,. The son of Arnie and Ruth (Welsh) Beckius.
Mike was a loving husband and devoted father. He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Terri
Schwert-Beckius, and his children Lindsey Kilby of Boscobel, WI, Kelsey Beckius of Round Rock, TX,
and Alex (Nikki) Beckius, and grandson Henry, all of Lancaster, WI. His parents, Arnie and Ruth Beckius of Highland. Mike was a cherished brother, to Eva ( Gary) Bird of Muscoda, Sue (Randy) Kotte of Muscoda ), Doreen Beckius, of Pewaukee Wi., and Todd (Holli) Beckius of Muscoda. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Michael grew up in Highland, and after the family moved to the farm he graduated from Riverdale High
School. He also obtained a degree from UW Wisconsin in their Agricultural short course.
In his early years, Mike worked for his parents' grocery store in Highland, WI, and later for Meister
Cheese Co. during his high school years. He also helped out on his family farm and for neighboring
farmers. After marrying Terri, Mike began his career as a semi-truck driver, hauling cattle for E.J.
Connery and Sons. He then found employment at Klien-Dickert Co. in Madison, WI, where he worked
for 28 years, first installing commercial building windows and then as an auto glass technician, installing
windshields and auto glass across the state. Mike was a hard worker, balancing his job with farming on
his father-in-law's and Uncle John's farms.
Outside of work, Mike found joy in spending time with his family. He loved family picnics and enjoyed
attending his children's school and 4H activities like the shooting sports and horse shows. Mike was able
to enjoy some traveling in his last few years, including trips to Yellowstone to visit his sister and
exploring Door County, as well as a trip to Texas to visit his daughter.
Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered as a reliable and helpful person, always
willing to lend a hand or offer assistance. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
Michael was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Marie Welsh, and Joseph and Mary Beckius all of Highland WI. Also a sister-in-law, Leesa Beckius of Muscoda WI., son-in-law, John Kilby of Boscobel, and father-in -law, Earl Schwert, of Boscobel.
A celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Friday August 4, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel.
