Michael G. "Mike" Wagner, age 65 of Richland Center and formerly of Blue River, passed away on Sunday November 5, 2023, at Schmidt Woodland Hills in Richland Center surrounded by his family. He was born April 5, 1958, in Richland Center Wisconsin. The son of Oscar and Iris (Freymiller) Wagner. He married Juli (McKnight) Schult June 28 th , 1980, they later divorced. They have two sons, James and Peter. Mike went by many names, Dad, Grandpa, Mikey, but the name most everyone knew him as was Bubba. A name given to him during his high school football days. Mike was a lover of music. He started at a young age playing the trumpet and then switched to the tuba which he played all through high school. He also started playing the keyboard in a band in high school (Deep Space) with only 4 years of piano lessons. He had an uncanny ability to play whatever he heard using just chords and no written music. Mike went on to play with the bands Harmony, Dance Kings, and Wells Fargo for the next 30 years. Following high school Mike attended the Wisconsin Broadcasting Communication school in Wausau and became the first DJ on WGLR radio station in Lancaster, Wisconsin. After determining that wasn’t the job for him, he started working in construction. Mike had the ability to fix most anything, despite no formal training. He built many homes over the years and eventually started his own construction company, Three Pines Construction. Mike will be remembered for his humor, generosity, and his overall big, kind heart. He is survived by his sons, James Wagner of Raleigh N.C. and Peter (Mandy) Wagner of Blue River. Two grandchildren, Levi Oscar Wagner and Wesley James Wagner both of Blue River. A brother, Tracy (Kathleen) Wagner of Boscobel, and a sister Darla (Don) Karasek of Wisconsin Dells. He is also survived by several Nieces and Nephews.
