Miona M. Young, age 99 of Boscobel, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on November 17, 1925, daughter of the late William and Ethel (Copus) Dilley. Miona married Hank Young on June 1, 1941 in Prairie du Chien, and they were blessed with three children.
Miona loved farming and caring for her horses and cows. She was known for her green thumb and love of gardening. She always had a welcoming door with homemade cookies and a well-stocked candy drawer. Miona enjoyed visiting with her neighbors, family, and friends.
Miona is survived by her sons Terry (Diane) Young of Boscobel and Jeff (Donna) Young of Gays Mills; five grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. She’s further survived by her brother John Dilley, sisters-in-law Pat Dilley and Rita Dilley, along with other relatives, and friends. Miona was preceded in death by her husband Hank Young, infant daughter Susan Lorraine Young, granddaughter Shawna Young; brothers George, Frank, Clarence, Ben, and Stanley Dilley; sisters Willa Monroe and Meredith Hembree, as well as her parents.
The funeral service for Miona will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 4, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1203 Park Street, Boscobel with Rev. Alan McCormick officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at the Kendall Funeral Service, 209 Mary Street, Boscobel from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. An additional time of visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Miona will be laid to rest at West Fork Cemetery in Richland County. Following the burial, a luncheon will be held at the Boscobel Bowl & Banquet. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Croix Hospice or Boscobel Rescue Squad are appreciated.
