Paul J. Bloyer, age 88 of Boscobel, was peacefully called home by Jesus, with his family by his side, on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. He was born in Boscobel on August 14, 1937, son of the late Clayton and Alice (Stenner) Bloyer. Paul was united in marriage on January 18, 1958, in Wauzeka to Elaine Ashmore, and they were blessed with 67 years together.
Paul was a man of faith who deeply cared for his family and friends. When he was not working, he enjoyed spending time with loved ones, fishing, hunting, camping, and being on his boat. He also loved to show up and support his kids, grandkids, and nieces' and nephews’ activities and events. He served his communities as a 4-H leader, snowmobile and hunter safety instructor. During his working life, he was employed at American Motors, served as a constable in Bristol, WI, and was a member of the Kenosha Fire Department for 25 years. After retiring from the fire department, he opened his own gunsmith shop, “Ye Olde Gunsmithy,” and served as the Mayor of Boscobel from February 2, 1998, to 2002. After his term as Mayor, he served the Boscobel Area School District driving school bus.
Paul is survived by his wife Elaine Bloyer of Boscobel; children Julie Brown of Boscobel, Christopher Bloyer of Boscobel, Susan (Don) Bacon of Boscobel, and William Bloyer of Muscoda; brother Emery (Elaine) Bloyer of Fennimore, sister Harriet Kamae of Blue River, sister-in-law Kathy (Gary) Brown of Fennimore, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Derrell Bloyer, grandson Timothy Bacon, great-grandson Joel Wittkamp, and daughter-in-law Ronda Reynolds-Bloyer.
