Regina Hennessy, 97, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 surrounded by her family at the Riverdale Health Care Center. She was one of 10 children born to Henry and Mary Stadele on November 25, 1924 in rural Muscoda. She graduated from St. John the Baptist Catholic High School. After high school she worked for Walsh Stores in Muscoda. On October 30, 1950 she was united in marriage to Richard (Frank) Hennessy. Frank and Regina farmed for many years in rural Excelsior. Together they raised seven children. Upon retirement they moved to Boscobel. Frank preceded her in death in September, 2004. Regina was very unselfish and always put the needs of others before her own. She worked tirelessly along with Frank on the farm and maintained a warm and loving household for her family. Regina also worked several years serving meals at the Excelsior Elementary School. She made sure no one was ever left hungry – always providing wonderful meals and baked goods. Regina’s strong faith was always central in her life. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Foresters. Regina is survived by her seven children – Sharon (Steve) Mergen of Dorchester, John (Marlys) Hennessy of Boscobel, Carol Stenklyft of Sheboygan, Janet (Rick) Anderson of DeForest, Mary Jo of Platteville, Jean & Kate of Boscobel. Also, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister, Rosemary Gassen, of Stoughton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and five brothers – Bernard, Clem, Donald, Tony and Francis and three sisters – Agnes Kinyon, Kathryn Herold, and Dorothy Lester. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of the Riverdale Manor for the care they provided Regina during the last few weeks of her life. Regina was blessed to remain in her home through her 97th birthday with the support of Kate and Jean and regular visits from family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on January 6, 2022 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Boscobel at 11:00 A.M.. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place at St. Philip’s Catholic Cemetery at Rolling Ground. Memorials can be made to the Immaculate Conception Church or a charity of your choice. The Kendall Funeral Home of Boscobel is in charge of arrangements.
