Robert L. "Bob" Baum, age 85 of Boscobel and formerly of Lynxville passed away on Saturday October 8, 2022 at his home in Boscobel, surrounded by his family. He was born February 25, 1937 in Dubuque Iowa. The son of Leo and Delores (Volindem) Baum. He married Betty Faust in November of 1958 in Manchester Iowa. She preceded him in death on December 15, 2016.
Bob loved fishing, and only a few family members knew his secret fishing spots. He was a board member of the Falling Rock Walleye club for over 10 years and sponsored several children for fishing tournaments. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with his family. He shot his largest deer at the age of at 76. He taught his children and grandchildren how to fish and hunt, they were taught by the best. In his early years he enjoyed snowmobiling, as a member of the Snow-Stingers Club for several years and raised money for the Boscobel Fire Department. He was a member of the Boscobel Sportsman Club and helped get it off the ground. He worked at Yahara Materials for over 50 years. After his retirement he spent his time fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his children; Dedra Middleton of Jacksonville Fl., Shelly (Glen) Updike Sr. of Boscobel, Cindy Grapes of Boscobel, Steve Grapes of Boscobel. 12 Grandchildren, 11 Great-Grandchildren, Three Sisters; Jean (Jerry) Albers of Georgetown Texas, Joyce (Bob) Bell of Bonita Springs Fl., Diane (Shane) Wilson of Monticello Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Dick Baum, three sisters, Mary Lee Liebold, Connie Bobla, and Bonnie Hutchinson.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday October 12, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Pastor Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial at a later date in the Boscobel Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday October 12, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel.
