Rose Ann Pittsley, 88, Boscobel, passed away peacefully, Saturday, April 24th, 2021, at Boscobel Care and Rehab, with her only son Steve, by her side.
Rose was born in French Creek Ettrick, Trempealeau Co. WI, on November 9th, 1932. She was the daughter of Oscar and Sophia (Hoffland) Rhude. Rose was the middle child of three. She had one older sister, Genevive, and one younger brother, Elmer. She lived in Soldiers Grove, WI, until the death of her mother, when she was just 15. Rose then moved to LaCrosse to live with her sister Gen.
Rose married Paul Pittsley at the age of 16, on September 18, 1949, in Dubuque, Iowa. They were married 13 years, before they were blessed, with their only son Steven, on September 18, 1961...their 13th wedding anniversary!!!
Rose's days were always entwined with her loving husband, Paul. They were inseparable, life long partners, together always; the type of couple that you see in the movies.
They had many successful businesses together, throughout the years...teamwork. In Boscobel, they started: The Salvage Yard, Sears & Roebuck, Badger Paint, the Laundromat, and Surplus Sales.
Rose always wanted to explore all 50 states, and almost did...Alaska was never achieved, but the other 49 were.
Rose's grandchildren, Laina and Mitchell, were dearly treasured by her. They spent many hours together ...playing, creating, traveling, or just talking. In her later years, they would reminisce about the younger days and adventures that they had, while curled up on the couch together.
One of Rose's favorite vacation destinations was Disney World. She enjoyed taking her family and enjoying the fascination with them. Rose also enjoyed many winters away from Wisconsin, in Brownsville, TX. When that trip became to long for her and Paul, the Miss Marquette was a great day trip.
Rose will be forever missed by her son Steve (Diane) , her grandchildren, Laina (Colton), and Mitchell (Sadie), her great grandson, Maverick, and so many others that knew and loved her dearly.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, her parents, and both of her siblings.
A private burial was held on April 30th, 2021, at the Boscobel Cemetery. Pastor Stan led the family in prayer. A Celebration of Life will be held for both Paul AND Rose Pittsley on Saturday September 18, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Boscobel..
