The son of Kim Gitlis and Jude Moon, Ry was a joyful companion to family, friends, caregivers, teachers, hospital workers, bus drivers and all who knew him, even while suffering through lifelong medical adversities. He is survived by his father Kim Gitlis, mother Jude Moon (Michelle Ballance), brother Dyami Moon, sisters Jessica (Lee) Nocon and Danica (Tom) Linnemann. Also by his extended family, uncles Robert Gitlis and Father Simeon Gitlis, nephews and nieces Lee, Kelsey, Isaac and Nora. He was lovingly cared for through the years by caretakers: Mary Ann O'Donnell and family, Mary Ellen Tredinnick and family, Nina Vereschagin and family, Ryan Carlin, Sherry, Vivian, Charity, Candace, Joy, Jimbeau and several others.

Services were held on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church with the Reverend Father Thomas Kulp presiding. Ry was laid to rest on family land immediately following the service.
