Steven Michael Grapes (Tweaker), 69 of Boscobel, WI, passed away on January 11, 2023, at Boscobel Care & Rehab with family by his side after his courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 9, 1953, in lowa City, IA; the son of Betty (Faust) and Delbert Grapes.
Steve enlisted in the US Navy on April 9, 1971, until his honorable discharge on April 19, 1985. While in the Navy, he was a cook and served in the Vietnam war. In July 1972 he was united in marriage to Diane Turner. From this union 2 daughters were born, Stephanie and Shannon. He later had a son Christopher Fritz.
Throughout his life, Steve worked for several auto shops doing many different jobs. He could always be found tweaking something. Whether it be cranking wrenches, painting cars, or welding. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix.
Steve is survived by his children Stephanie Miller (Darren Cornell), Boscobel, Shannon (Mike) Finnell, Gays Mills, Christopher Fritz, Fennimore; 4 grandchildren, Alayna (Luke) Burbach, Allie Cornell, Garrett Finnell, and Gavin Finnell. 1 great- granddaughter, Brooklyn Burbach. 3 sisters, Cindy Grapes, Boscobel, Dedra Middleton, Jacksonville, FL, Shelly (Glen) Updike Sr., Boscobel; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty (Bob) Baum and Delbert Grapes, his grandparents, best friend Paul McNamee, and beloved companion, Brewer.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday January 21,2023 at 4:.00 P.M. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Pastor Lance Wetter will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in the Boscobel Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday January 21, 2023 from 2:00 P.M.- 4:00 P.M. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Military Honors will be accorded by the Blake-Semrad American Legion Post #134 and the Gilbertson Pitzer Radley VFW Post #10393 both of Boscobel
