Thomas "Tom" Richter Obituary

Thomas “Mr. Tom” Richter, 70, passed away peacefully with family at his side on September 23, 2021.  He fought a strong and courageous battle with cancer.  He was born on August 30, 1951.  The son of Margaret (Neff) and Ishmael Richter in Boscobel, where he was a lifelong resident.

Tom is survived by his wife, Kathy, who he spent 23 amazing years with.  He is survived by his six daughters; Kelly (Tom Kirkwood) Ideran of Bloomington IL, Sara (Jim) Pacholke of Durham NC, Jody (Mark Hedrick) Ideran of Loves Park IL, Tasia (Jason) Gjermo of Milton WI, Alisha (Steve Mulrooney) Ideran of Chantilly VA, and Micah (Randall) Busser of Hollandale WI.  He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren; Kiarra, Emma, Jasmine, Sarah, Ava, Addison, Jacob, Jarod, Elliot, and Lakyn.  He is survived by his siblings; Peggy (Charlie) Baumeister, of Boscobel,  John (Sandra) Richter, of Ferryville,  Bill (Donna) Richter, Glenn Haven,  Gloria Nikolas, of Ft. Atkinson,  Kay (Dick) Bartels,of Muscoda,  and Deb (Carl) Dominic, of Charlottesville Virginia,  as well as many nieces and nephews.  Tom was preceded in death by his parents.

Tom established Mr. Tom’s Body and Paint in the early 90’s.  His customers were always his top priority.  Tom loved his community.  It was evident in his passion and commitment to Boscobel.  He was always there to lend a helping hand.  You can’t go far in the community without finding someone who was impacted by his generosity.

Tom was a true Wisconsin fan, whether it was the Badgers, the Brewers, or the Packers,

but his greatest love was his family. He loved being on the river, going for drives, even Boscobel Dial Day and many other things.  One thing is for certain, there wasn’t much he wouldn’t do for his daughters.  He was their rock and was always there to lend a listening ear, have a beer on the deck, make dad jokes to get a smile, and provide great big hugs.  His grandchildren were the joy of his life.  The adventures they had together included bonfires in the snow, Santa visits, tubing, birthday parties, holidays, hunting, fishing, card games, vacations, video calls….the list could go on and on.

We could write pages about Tom and it would never do justice to the wonderful, caring, strong, generous, and loving Husband, Dad, Bonus Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle and Friend that the world lost.
