Vernon O. Ward, age 81 of Sun Prairie and formerly of Boscobel, passed away on Thursday March 3, 2022 at his home in Sun Prairie. He was born March 30, 1940 in Crawford County Wisconsin. The son of Clarence and Alida (Adkins) Ward. He married Victoria Williams and they divorced. He married Raelene Sanford, and she preceded him in death. He then Phylis Taft on January 7, 2006 in Boscobel. He served 22 years in the Navy. He then worked for the Unysis Co putting up NEXRAD weather towers all over the US. He is survived by his wife Phylis Ward of Sun Prairie. His children, Max (Melynda) Ward of Youngsville N.C., Chantal (James) King of Plant City,Florida. 2 Grandchildren 1 Great-Grandchild. 6 Sisters; Rose Bohringer of Cassville, Jeanette Ward of Nampa,Idaho, Sharon (Harry) Wolter of Dubuque Ia., Denise Robinette of Bloomington Wi., Debra Perkins of Jacksonville,
Florida, Julia Holman of Fremont Nebraska. 2 step children Blaine Neupert of Cottage Grove and Aleta Amick of Sun Prairie. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, an infant Milo Ward and Chester Ward. A sister Lois Junk. Vern was an avid coin collector and enjoyed going to many coins events. He enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday March 12, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Pastor Kevin Baker officiating. Burial of the cremains in the Haney Ridge Cemetery rural Boscobel. Friends may call on Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of Service at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Those wishing to donate memorials can send them to Boscobel Rescue Squad, Boscobel American Legion, or Boscobel VFW. Military honors will be accorded by the Blake-Semrad American Legion Post #134 and the Gilbertson-Pitzer-Radley VFW Post #10393 both of Boscobel.
