William Ewoldt Obituary

William J. “Bill” Ewoldt, age 77 of Blue River, passed away at home with his family by his side on Monday, December 22, 2025. He was born on April 2, 1948 in Clinton, IA to the late Wilson and Irma (Cox) Ewoldt. Bill married Nancy Gardner on December 11, 1982 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boscobel, and they were blessed with 43 years together.

A devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, Bill lived a life of deep and unwavering faith.  Bill lived his life guided by his trust in God. He shared that faith freely through both his words and his actions. His kindness, integrity, and servant’s heart were a reflection of what he believed and valued most.

Bill was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer his time, or give quietly without expecting recognition. His greatest joy came from being surrounded by his family, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Bill leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, hard work, and generosity. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved.

Bill is survived by his wife Nancy Ewoldt of Blue River, children Matt (Melissa) Ewoldt of Lake Mills, Nick (Deb) Ewoldt of Middleton, and Emily (Brandon) McCormick of Blue River; siblings Lew (Karen) Ewoldt of Dane, WI, Joe (Rose) Ewoldt of Fitchburg, Tom (Linda Sanders) Ewoldt of New Albin, IA, Mary (Dale) O’Brien of Cuba City, and Helen Ewoldt of Barnes, WI; 7 grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Cody Ewoldt and his parents.
