William "Bill" J. Cody

William J. "Bill" Cody, age 80 of Seneca, passed away on Thursday December 30, 2021 at Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse.  He was born  August 11, 1941 in Seneca.  The son of William J. and Mary L. (Becwar) Cody Sr. He married Marilyn Kramer on September 12, 1964 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Eastman.  She preceded him in death on February 5, 1976.  He then married  Rose Mary Klaus on August 21, 1976 at St.  Aloysius Catholic Church in Sauk City. She preceded him in death on April 4, 2016. He worked for Oscar Mayer starting in Davis, IL as a hog buyer in 1964 and then transferred to Sauk City in 1970 and then to the Madison plant. Later in his career became a production supervisor of the bologna production line. He bought his first farm in the Seneca area in 1974 and ran a dairy operation from 1978 to 1999 and then from 1999 - 2020 he raised beef cattle. He was proud of his Children and Grandchildren. He is survived by his children; William (Peggy) Cody III of Oregon WI, Christina Circo of Chandler AZ,  Carla Cody of LaValle, Brennan (Diana) Cody of Eastman, Jonathan (Laura) Cody of Sauk City,  Justin (Shannon) Cody of Owings MD, Andrea (Joe) Ruta of Martinsville NJ, Genevieve Gorman and husband Peter Lee of Kent WA., Christopher Gorman of Sauk City. Three sisters; Kathleen (Cliff) Schmitt of Sun Prairie, Mary (Bill) Cummings of Oklahoma , Jane (Jim) Wall of Prairie du Chien. Three brothers; Tom (Sandy) Cody of Mt. Sterling, Ed Cody & Janet Skram both of Eastman, Brian (Martha) Cody of Eastman, and 15 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant brother Patrick Cody, sister Linda Hodgson, and a brother Jim Cody.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday January 5, 2022  at 12:00 P.M.  at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Seneca. Father Tom Huff and Father Eugene Wolf will concelebrate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday January 5, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Seneca. The family of Bill Cody requests those in attendance to please wear a mask and observe social distancing. The Kendall Funeral Service in Boscobel is assisting the family.
